"OMG" as two 11-year-old girls in this book would say!! I am overwhelmed with this story. I think it's my new favorite book. If Goodreads had a 10-star option, that's what I'd choose. It's by far the best story I've read this year. Sharon K Souza has created a mesmerizing, intriguing, grab-the-tissues, laughing-out-loud, can't-put-it down kind of book that I'll want to read and read again. Fabulous plot, deep characters, fast-pace--WOW! Just WOW!
2. FUN LOVING YOU by Ted Cunningham
Fabulous! Loved this affirmation of God's view of marriage. It needn't be a drudge or duty to have fun with my mate. There's plenty I can do (even at our advanced ages) to get back that lovin' feeling. I've already implemented dinner conversation without TV--with quite pleasant results. DH actually seems to be enjoying it. I highly recommend this book.
3. I WILL ALWAYS WRITE BACK by Kaitlin Alifirenka, Martin Ganda, and Liz Welch
WOW! WOW! WOW! Best nonfiction story I've read in many many years. If you haven't read this inspiring tale of kindness and friendship get a copy today. I cannot imagine anyone who would not be deeply moved and inspired to live a better life as a result of reading this book. Thinking of getting myself an international pen-pal....
4. SKIPPING CHRISTMAS by John Grisham
My new favorite holiday classic! Loved this book. Funny and thought provolking. Not your usual John Grisham offering. I totally feel the desire to escape the craziness of this hustle and bustle season myself this year. Thanks, John Grisham for stepping out of the box to present this charming tale.
"The enemy wants us to feel rejected . . . left out, lonely, and less than. When we allow him to speak lies through our rejection, he pickpockets our purpose. Cripples our courage. Dismantles our dreams. And blinds us to the beauty of Christ’s powerful love. In Uninvited, Lysa shares her own deeply personal experiences of rejection—from the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father to the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over." Truly God loves the broken and God uses the broken.
So there they are. Five unforgettable books. Each one fabulous each one in it's own right and so diverse! Aren't you impressed with the range of my reading taste? I feel downright self-righteous.
Oh no! Need to get back to my Bible reading, which is, of course the greatest book ever written and always the number one best seller.
Merry Christmas and happy reading in the New Year!
The paths of three strangers collide on a desperate road trip along Route 66. One is running away, one is racing the clock, and the child who binds them merely hopes to survive.
Another great choice for gift-giving and relaxing reading. Hop on over to Amazon for any of these great books.
Avoid the Christmas rush and do it now!
