Catherine Leggitt is an author and inspirational speaker presently residing in northern California. Her first book, “Payne & Misery,” won second place at the Orange County Christian Writer’s Conference in 2010. A contract with Ellechor Media for a series of three Christine Sterling mysteries followed this honor. The third book, “Parrish the Thought,” made the quarterfinals in the 2011 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest. Waiting rewrites, these books are currently unavailable. A biography of Sam Contino, “Street Smart” published in 2012 is available on Amazon.
In 2009, a friend suggested taking messages from her books to women’s groups. Since then, Catherine has traveled all over California plus a trip to Washington expounding on themes from her books. A common thread – choosing joy instead of complaining – overarches each presentation.
After more than a dozen years of fine-tuning her writing skills, Catherine penned the novel, “The Road to Terminus,” published in 2015 by Mountainview Books.
Mother of three accomplished children who have collectively produced six incredible grandchildren, Catherine is an avid Bible student. These days she serves as Children’s Supervisor at her local Bible Study Fellowship. Catherine and her husband, Bob share a love of travel, interior design, architecture, and antiques—especially primitives, Arts and Crafts, and Western. Several years ago, her grandchildren introduced her to ziplining. Catherine would go anywhere a zip line is available, especially one over a jungle. Maybe Costa Rica. Also, on her “bucket list” is a half-marathon, white water rafting, and jumping out of an airplane. Her husband has yet to grant his blessing to the parachuting idea. Not without better life insurance.
" ...for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
In this crazy, out of control world, it's easy to become unbalanced. Fear, doubt and insecurity fill our minds. That's not how God created His children to live. In order to experience the peace, joy, and strength of the Lord, God must be at the center of our lives.
"Pain is inevitable but misery is a choice." Anyone can complain and drag others into their misery. But complaining displeases God. He desires that we choose joy instead. Thankfulness is the key.
Everyone seems to be searching for truth. Instead we find bits of truth mixed up with a lot of lies. Absolute eternal truth can only be found in God's Word. Catherine discusses the nature of Truth and how to deal with Satan's lies.
It's easy to love people who are kind and good. But God commands us to love the unlovable. How can we learn to do that?
Part 1 Dress to Race
At salvation, all Christians enter a race to glory with God. The Bible is clear about what to throw off and what to put on. In this session, Catherine explores how to run our best race.
Part 2 No Short Cuts, No Detours
Perseverance is key to run the race God has marked out for each believer. To persevere, believers must resist the temptation to bypass God's plan and do things our own way.
Did you know God sings over His children? God's song is the music of joy, peace, abundant living, and hope. In this message, Catherine suggests 5 things that mute God's music and how to unstop our ears so we can enjoy God's singing.
